I participated in 3 cross country runs. All the three were of 3 kms. My main goal was to increase my stamina, pace, mental toughness, and physical endurance. I wanted to gain discipline, consistency, and a greater understanding of fitness as an essential component of a healthy lifestyle by committing to the 3 runs. I also wanted to test my endurance in the face of physical difficulties and push myself beyond my comfort zone. I was able to concentrate on improving myself, gain confidence, and emphasise the need of keeping both my body and mind in good condition because of this experience.
LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
I discovered my strength in perseverance and my capacity to overcome fatigue in order to finish all three runs as a result of this experience. However I also noticed that I was not always able to pace myself well, which occasionally caused me to become exhausted before completing the runs with the strength I desired. While acknowledging my weaknesses provides me with guidance for improvement, knowing my strengths gives me confidence. Understanding both is crucial since our flaws highlight our opportunities for growth while our strengths inspire us. I’m going to practise interval training to improve my pacing in order to gain control and endurance. I could finish strong and perform better overall in next runs or physical activities if I could overcome this area of weakness.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
The hardest thing was staying mentally and physically focused during the 3 kilometer runs. It was challenging since I had trouble timing myself which led to early exhaustion. I had previously completed shorter runs, but this was the first time I dedicated myself to a series of long distance runs which tested my limits. I overcame this by focusing on my breathing and rhythm to keep going and by setting little goals for each run. I felt accomplished after completing this challenge which inspired me to keep becoming better. Taking on new challenges is crucial because they force us to step outside of our comfort zones which allows growth and resilience. I learnt how crucial it is to maintain focus by practicing mental discipline and creating tiny, manageable goals. I will be able to handle stress and assignments in school and other aspects of my life with this ability. Acquiring this ability has increased my self-esteem and demonstrated to me that perseverance can help you get beyond obstacles. Learning new skills is crucial because it increases our ability to adapt to various circumstances and prepares us for obstacles in the future.

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
As it need mental concentration and physical stamina to finish three 3 kilometer runs, this activity was challenging. Perseverance and commitment were necessary to get through the exhausting times. When I finished the runs, I felt successful and proud. I demonstrated to myself that I could push through discomfort and continue. Consistent effort, planning, and the capacity to maintain motivation in the face of physical difficulties were all necessary for the activity. I never find it difficult to commit to anything, but when I have a clear purpose and objective, I am more stubborn. This experience made it easier for me to maintain my determination in the face of difficulty. Being persistent and dedicated is crucial because it develops character, discipline, and resilience, which help us succeed and overcome obstacles in all areas of life.

I improved my Balanced, RIsk-taker and Reflective learner profile attributes as a result of this activity. Running three cross-country required both mental and physical strength, which helped me strike a balance between my academic and physical health. Personally, I benefited from this practice since it tested my dedication and self-control. Pushing my boundaries and experiencing a sense of success at the finish line were the highlights. My views on perseverance changed, confirming that effort and consistency are the keys to success. I would concentrate on improving my preparation and pacing if I had to do this over. Academic, professional, and personal obstacles will benefit from the principles I learnt like establishing realistic goals and maintaining commitment. By using these abilities in my community, I hope to encourage healthy behaviours and motivate others to set goals for fitness and perseverance. As little efforts can result in significant personal improvement, this experience served as a reminder that actions reflect values like empathy and discipline.
