I took part in 3 cross country runs. All the three were of 3 kms. I primarily wanted to improve my stamina, speed, mental hardness and body strength. By completing the 3 runs, I wanted to achieve some discipline, consistency, and increased knowledge about fitness as a vital part of a healthy lifestyle. I also wanted to challenge my stamina when faced with a physical challenge and go out of my comfort zone. This experience allowed me to focus on my personal development, build self-confidence, and focus on the importance of maintaining a healthy body and mind.
LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growthThrough this experience, I learned that my strength lies in perseverance and the ability to push myself despite feeling tired to complete all the three runs. But I also observed that I could not always pace myself adequately and so at times I found myself becoming tired before I accomplished the runs with as much strength as I wanted to. As much as my weaknesses help me to know how I can improve, knowing my strengths gives me confidence. It is important to know both of them because we clearly see our weaknesses and can gain by working on them; we also see our strengths leading to motivation. To gain control and endurance, I will train to be able to pacing my training through interval training. This aspect of weakness would prevent me from being able to finish strong and perform better overall in subsequent runs or physical activities.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
It was the most difficult experience to remain mentally and physically concentrated when making the 3 kilometer runs. This was not easy as I struggled to time myself hence getting exhausted too early. This was the first time I committed to a program of long distance runs and I was actually testing my boundaries. I managed to overcome it thanks to practicing my breathing and rhythm to continue and making small goals during each run. I was successful in this challenge and this motivated me to continue to improve. It is vital to take on new challenges as they can take us out of our comfort zones enabling us to grow and be resilient. I also got to know the importance of being focused and exercising mental discipline by setting small, achievable objectives. This will help me to manage the stresses and homework in school and other areas of my life. Learning this skill has boosted my confidence and it has shown me that you can push through and overcome challenges. The importance of learning new skills is that we become more adaptable in different situations and ready to face challenges in the future.

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
This was a mental workout that required physical fitness to complete three 3 kilometer runs. There had to be endurance and determination to endure the trying moments. I was proud and I felt successful when I completed the runs. I showed myself that I could remain in discomfort and proceed. The activity required a consistent effort, planning, and the ability to remain motivated despite physical challenges. I have never struggled with committing to anything but once I have a definite purpose and a definite goal to achieve, I tend to be more stubborn. Having this experience enabled me to be more determined when I face a difficult situation. Persistence and dedication is very important as it builds character, discipline and strength that enables us to achieve and overcome challenges in every aspect of life.
I improved my Balanced, RIsk-taker and Reflective learner profile attributes as a result of this activity. Running three cross-country required both mental and physical strength, which helped me strike a balance between my academic and physical health. Personally, I benefited from this practice since it tested my dedication and self-control. Pushing my boundaries and experiencing a sense of success at the finish line were the highlights. My views on perseverance changed, confirming that effort and consistency are the keys to success. I would concentrate on improving my preparation and pacing if I had to do this over. Academic, professional, and personal obstacles will benefit from the principles I learnt like establishing realistic goals and maintaining commitment. By using these abilities in my community, I hope to encourage healthy behaviours and motivate others to set goals for fitness and perseverance. As little efforts can result in significant personal improvement, this experience served as a reminder that actions reflect values like empathy and discipline.
