FS Got Talent is an annual talent show at school. It was a memorable experience, not only because I won the competition, but because I thoroughly enjoyed choreographing and editing my music track, along with practicing every day for it.
LO 1 – Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth.
Choreographing my own dance routine was both exciting and scary. While I knew I had the creativity and technical skills to put together a performance, I realized that structuring a routine that balanced technical precision and stage presence required a lot of effort. I also had to work on controlling my nerves before stepping onto the stage, making me more aware of how mindset plays a crucial role in performance.
LO 2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
The journey to the final performance wasn’t easy. I had to refine my choreography multiple times, adjusting moves to make them more impactful while ensuring they were within my limits. There were moments of frustration when certain steps didn’t flow as I had imagined, and exhaustion from long hours of practice. However, instead of giving up, I pushed myself to keep perfecting my routine, trusting that perseverance would lead to a polished final performance.
LO 4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.
Winning the competition was a result of weeks of dedication. I set aside time every day to practice, refining my movements and building endurance to maintain high energy throughout the routine. Even when I felt tired or discouraged, I reminded myself of my goal and stayed committed to improving. Performing on stage with confidence and delivering a routine I was proud of made all the hard work worthwhile.
This experience reinforced my belief that success comes from dedication and practice. Choreographing and performing my own dance pushed me to step out of my comfort zone and refine my skills. More than the trophy, the true reward was the sense of achievement and growth I gained through the process.
