Pi Day was a fun and educational event organized by math and physics students, including me as part of the décor team. My role involved finding creative math-related memes and assisting with origami decorations. This experience pushed me to think creatively while also improving my teamwork and problem-solving skills. It was a great opportunity to celebrate mathematics in a unique and engaging way.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
Finding and selecting memes for Pi Day was more challenging than expected. I had to ensure they were both humorous and appropriate for the event. Additionally, working on origami decorations required patience and precision, skills I hadn’t practiced before. Initially, I struggled with folding techniques, but with practice, I improved. Overcoming these small challenges helped me develop creativity, attention to detail, and adaptability.

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
Decorating for Pi Day took time and effort. We had to create and arrange multiple decorations to make the event visually appealing. Despite the repetitive nature of folding origami and setting up, I stayed committed to my role. Seeing our hard work come together on the event day made the effort worthwhile. This experience reinforced the importance of perseverance and dedication in achieving a shared goal.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Teamwork was essential in making Pi Day a success. We divided tasks efficiently, ensuring every aspect of the decoration was covered. Communicating and coordinating with my peers helped us work faster and avoid mistakes. By supporting each other, we were able to bring creative ideas to life. This experience showed me that collaboration enhances productivity and makes projects more enjoyable.

Pi Day was a rewarding experience that allowed me to contribute to a fun learning environment while developing valuable skills. From problem-solving to teamwork, I gained a lot from this event. It reinforced the importance of creativity, patience, and collaboration in successfully organizing events.
