? Day 2025

In this exciting event, we celebrated by bringing in some mathematical concepts and games on the table. All the games going to be played are based on mathematical concepts, mathematical history, or fun facts about the most famous mathematical constant representing the ratio between the circumference and the diameter of the circle, ?.

For this event, I created a Jeopardy in which there were questions about the history of the evolution of ?, some mathematical concepts, calculation-based questions, and some fun facts about ?. ? is a very unique and special number, first calculated by Archimedes of Syracuse. But many people do not know some important facts about ? and to create awareness, I created this game. To play this game, there should be minimum of two players or two teams, and they have to answer questions based on points. Higher the points, higher the level of the question. Based on the feedback of the people who played the game, they enjoyed it very much and they were unaware of some of facts and concepts.

Learning Outcome 1 : Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I opted for this event because Mathematics as always been on the top of my strongest subjects. By opting for this event, I could identify strengths and weaknesses directly, and learned new things which I was not aware of earlier such as some mathematical equations derivations, calculations without using calculators, fun facts about ? day, etc. Managing my stall and reaching out to each participants at the same time was difficult and exhausting in the bright sunlight but I managed to complete it with last of the energy in my body available.

Learning Outcome 2 : Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

When I started to create the game, I felt very relaxed and assured that I could do this easily. Well! that was not the case as the students coming in this event were of Grade 9 and Grade 11. For grade 11, I could easily make questions on the concepts which have been taught to us in this year. However, but Grade 9, I had to rethink of the questions multiple times, reassuring that the questions are of the level of the Grade 9. This was not an easy task at all, but I managed to complete it with confidence on top. In the process, I learned many new things and my love towards Mathematics increased as Math is a very intriguing and mysterious but interesting as well.

Learning Outcome 4 : Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

I was committed in this event and it is very evident as I had to do planning and researching for days for the sake of the creation of the questions and concepts that have to be new to them. It turned out be a great success for all the hard work and energy committed by me, in this event.

Conclusion

This was a very exciting event and I learned many new things which were absolutely new to me and some surprised me as well. The quiz made by me was hard for some of the teachers present in the event, and said the questions or facts were new to them. In the end, this was a very exciting event and I enjoyed it very much.
