LO1 – Identify Own Strengths and Develop Areas for Growth
By participating in the event, composing zines, and presenting a poem, I explored and refined my literary and creative abilities. I recognised my strengths in writing and public speaking while also identifying areas for growth, such as improving presentation skills or exploring different styles of writing. This experience allowed me to develop confidence in expressing myself through literature.
LO2 – Demonstrate That Challenges Have Been Undertaken, Developing New Skills
Writing and presenting in a literary event can be challenging, especially when sharing personal work with an audience. By composing three zines and presenting a poem, I stepped out of my comfort zone, taking on the challenge of creative expression and public performance. Additionally, being part of the organising committee required problem-solving and event management skills, further contributing to my personal development.
LO5 – Demonstrate Skills and Benefits of Working Collaboratively
Organizing a literary event required teamwork and collaboration with peers, teachers, and possibly external participants. I worked with others to ensure smooth execution, and support fellow participants. Engaging in Monsoon Musings as both an organizer and a participant highlighted how collaboration can enhance creativity and foster a sense of community within a literary space.
Through this experience, I strengthened my creative and leadership skills, challenged myself by taking on new responsibilities, and embraced teamwork to create a successful literary event. My active participation in writing, presenting, and organising showcased personal growth and reinforced the importance of collaboration in bringing artistic ideas to life.
