Creative Mela – OC – Creativity

I have always wanted to conduct an event which fosters creative minds and provides a fun and interactive platform for students to use it as a form of self expression. We supplied PYP students with multitude of collaborative tasks which they are allowed to choose from and participate willingly in. This event does not only allow me to learn principles of teaching but also inspires curious minds to pursue their interests and promote holistic development

LO3 – Initiate and Plan a CAS Experience

As a member of the organising committee, I was involved in planning and executing the Creative Mela. This required brainstorming ideas, allocating resources, and structuring the event. Specifically, organising the fridge magnet activity for PYP students showcased my ability to plan an engaging, age-appropriate, and creative experience.

LO4 – Show Perseverance and Commitment in CAS Experience

Event organisation is a challenging process that requires dedication. I faced myriad of obstacles, such as managing materials, coordinating with students, or ensuring smooth facilitation. My commitment to seeing the event through, despite challenges, reflected perseverance and dedication to my CAS experience.

LO5 – Demonstrate Skills and Benefits of Working Collaboratively

Being part of an organising committee meant working with others to make the event successful. I collaborated with peers, teachers, and possibly parents to coordinate logistics. Additionally, while conducting the fridge magnet-making activity, I worked closely with PYP students, guiding and assisting them, demonstrating teamwork and leadership.

Through this experience, I developed organisational and leadership skills while fostering creativity in younger students. I also enhanced my ability to collaborate and adapt, demonstrating perseverance in overcoming challenges. This activity not only contributed to my personal growth but also enriched the school community by creating a fun and educational space for students to express their creativity.
