Badminton has always been an enjoyable pastime for me, but I had never approached it in a structured and disciplined manner. I aimed to improve my abilities, develop my stamina, and cultivate a sense of determination when I choose HDP PS Badminton as my CAS experience. My badminton journey this academic year has been a journey of development, self-improvement, and conquering obstacles. Regular training and games assisted in my development of mental resilience and physical health.
LO1: Identifying Strengths and Areas for Growth
My badminton skills were primarily unstructured when I first started. I hadn’t followed any formal guidelines or strategies; I had merely played casual games with pals. But as I advanced through each training session, I became more aware of my areas of strength and growth, for instance, I discovered that while my backhand serve needed a lot of work, my forehand serves were rather good and reliable. I was able to focus my energy on refining my methods by recognizing those areas for improvement.
LO2: Undertaking Challenges and Developing New Skills
Developing my footwork and backhand serve was one of the challenging tasks I had to work on during this journey. At first, I had trouble with synchronization and accuracy, which had an impact on how well I played in games. However, with consistent practice and coaching, I was able to progressively improve my accuracy and control. It took persistence and patience to pick up new skills, but the benefits that I acquired were immensely satisfying. The experience highlighted how crucial it is to view obstacles as opportunities for individual growth and skill improvement.
Participating in HDP PS Badminton for a year has altered things in my life. Along with developing my technical badminton abilities, I have additionally developed in character traits like perseverance, self-control, and commitment. I’ve learned throughout the experience that persistence pays off in both life and sports. I have a strong sense of satisfaction when I look back because I know that I have improved both mentally and physically and have pushed myself over my initial boundaries. My personal growth journey has benefited significantly from this CAS experience.
