Garba fest

Indian culture has naturally had a significant effect on my life and never failed to inspire me. Festivals hold a special place in my heart of its several traditions since they are incredibly pleasant, bringing me a sense of togetherness. I therefore made the decision to take participate in my school’s Garba Fest as a CAS activity. In addition to allowing me cherish my cultural background, this experience assisted in my personal development in several ways, most notably in recognizing my strengths and cooperating with others.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

I learned how to adjust to various situations and use dance as an instrument of self-expression from this experience. initially I had trouble keeping up my rhythm and endurance throughout lengthy dance sessions, despite the fact I was assured with my cultural understanding and passion for Garba. However with perseverance and practice sessions which I had attended weeks before the fest, I was able to increase my endurance and coordination, which strengthened my dancing abilities and self-assurance. This realisation reinforced the importance of continuous learning and self-improvement.

LO5 – LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

Taking part in this festival emphasized the significance of cooperation, since garba is a dance of unity. Effective coordination, rhythm, and encouragement from one another were necessary for me to dance precisely with my peers. Additionally, I assisted a few of my classmates in learning the steps, which improved our inclusion and sense of community. The event was made even more delightful by the shared excitement and energy, demonstrating how teamwork improves both individual and group experiences.

Being a part of the Garba Fest offered an occasion for cooperation and personal development in addition to being a cultural festival. I discovered how to capitalise my strengths, improve my flaws, and appreciate the satisfaction which comes from working as a collective to make an event a reality. Through the development of key abilities that go beyond the dance floor, this CAS activity strengthened my connection to Indian culture.
