Staff Garba Fest is a fun event at our school where the staff comes together to celebrate the Indian festival of Navaratri. During this time, the staff participates in Garba, a traditional dance that is an important part of the festival. The event helps the staff bond and enjoy each other’s company while celebrating Indian culture. It’s a lively and joyful occasion filled with music, dancing, and a sense of togetherness, making it a special and memorable experience for everyone involved.
LO3 – Initiate and Plan a CAS Experience
Through my CAS experience, I was able to take initiative and effectively plan a meaningful project. I proposed, organized, and prepared for the event by setting clear goals, identifying resources, and collaborating with others. I addressed challenges that came up during the planning process, such as coordinating logistics and managing time effectively. For example, while organizing this event, I ensured that I communicated well with volunteers and teachers, and I made sure that every detail was planned out for the event to run smoothly. This process allowed me to structure a purposeful and impactful project.
LO4 – Show Perseverance and Commitment in CAS Experience
Throughout my CAS experience, I demonstrated perseverance and commitment. I actively engaged in the activities over an extended period, even when faced with challenges. At times, difficulties arose, such as low participation or time constraints, but I remained dedicated and worked to find solutions. For example, in a community service project I led, I faced some issues with funding and participation, but I continued working hard and stayed committed to my responsibilities, ensuring that the project was successful. This experience taught me the value of resilience and how to stay focused on my goals, no matter the obstacles.

During my CAS experience, I learned the importance of collaboration. Working with others allowed me to utilize my strengths while also helping others with theirs, contributing to a shared goal. I developed essential interpersonal skills, such as active listening, leadership, conflict resolution, and adaptability. For instance, in a team project, I communicated effectively with my peers, ensuring everyone’s ideas were heard and integrating different perspectives into our plan. The experience showed me that collaboration leads to greater creativity and efficiency, and working together allowed us to achieve more than we could have individually.
