I got selected for the ISSO table tennis tournament which was held in Noida. I represented school in that competition and later got selected for the nationals SGFI team. I chose the ISSO table tennis competition as my CAS activity to challenge myself physically and improve my table tennis skills. I wanted to dedicate time to a sport I enjoy, pushing my limits and developing my technique.
LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth Screen reader support enabled.
During the competition, I recognized my strength in . I consistently executed these shots with accuracy and power, which gave me an advantage in many matches. “I found that I was able to quickly analyze my opponents’ playing styles and adapt my strategies accordingly. This allowed me to anticipate their moves and capitalize on their weaknesses.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.
Initially, mastering advanced serves, such as the pendulum serve, proved extremely challenging. It required precise wrist movements and consistent practice. Adapting to different opponents’ playing styles, especially those with strong backhand techniques, was a significant hurdle.Maintaining consistency in my shots under pressure during competitive matches was a challenge. Overcoming the disappointment of losing matches and maintaining a positive mindset was difficult.
LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.
I committed to practicing three times a week, even when I had a heavy academic workload. I created a training schedule and stuck to it, ensuring I dedicated sufficient time to improving my technique and fitness. I experienced some physical setbacks, such as muscle soreness and fatigue. However, I persevered by taking care of my body, stretching regularly, and maintaining a positive mindset.
