The International University Fair was held by Fountainhead school this year which was held on 22nd November 2024 at the Amore. I was appointed as the Main Coordinator for assisting the booths and managing the resources. The fair welcomed over 100 universities the world including USA, India, UK, and many more. As the head, I had to ensure the requirements of the university representatives and manage the crowd in the fair as multiple students and parents were visiting. This experience was not only about service, but also about learning, personal growth, and responsibility.

LO 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

The biggest challenge which I faced during this experience was keeping up with the pressure, students were roaming from one place to another and maintaining decorum was a tough task, I also had to adhear to the needs of the representatives and doing both at the same time was a new learning. I was able to balance both the things while equally distributing the work amongst the volunteers and I also developed my communication skills by doing so. I also had answer to all the questions asked by the people who came to attend the University Fair, some of them were asking about different universities which I was unfamiliar with, I was hesitant at first but I stayed composed while directing them to the right table while providing accurate guidance. By doing so, I was able to develop my confidence to communicate efficiently.

LO 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

I demonstrated determination in this experience by completing my task and meeting the requirements for my role, I was motivated to accomplish it. I was perseverant because I was doing something that made me pleased, I enjoy taking responsibility and due to the same, I was able to add significant values to the event. We were expected to be at the venue for long hours and assist everyone, I kept myself engaged and determined in order to fulfil my responsibilities.

LO 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

Hosting an event at a large scale requires a proper team with everyone working collaboratively so that the event turns out to be a success. For the same, all of us worked together and here we demonstrated effective collaboration and communication skills. Before the event started, all of us had to each early and display the posters and place name cards to all the booths, we had less time and more hands were required. This taught me that it is important to work collaboratively in order to produce a good outcome.

Overall, the event was a success and I am glad that I was able to execute my roles and responsibility effectively. This experience taught me to stay calm and composed for any such circumstance and it also made me understand the importance of working together as a team!
