Cross Country Run Experience

Blog-

Participating in this Cross Country Run has left me with many valuable experiences that I wouldn’t forget. We took part in 3 total three kilometer runs across a time period of a week. With 2 runs on consecutive days. This experience was my first time engaging in a major long distance running event and was extremely physically demanding. The first day or run took tolls on my legs. Most of us did not have extensive experience in running and had to do the second run with aching legs. However the third run was much less strenuous than the first two and we were able to complete much ease.

LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth Screen reader support enabled.

This activity strongly connects with the first learning outcome (LO1) because it helped me identify my strengths and areas for improvement. After the first run, I realized that my leg strength and endurance were my biggest challenges. Running long distances required more stamina than I had expected, and my legs felt sore and fatigued. However, by consistently pushing myself through each run, I could feel my endurance improving. By the third run, I was able to run more comfortably and complete the distance with better control and stamina. This showed me how much I had developed my endurance over the week, and it motivated me to continue working on my fitness.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills.

This activity strongly connects with the second learning outcome (LO2), as it demonstrates that I took on a challenge and developed new skills. Committing myself to complete three runs, despite having no prior experience in long-distance running, was a significant challenge. Pushing through the physical demands of each run helped me improve my endurance and resilience.

LO4: Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience.

The fourth learning outcome (LO4) is also reflected in this experience, as it required perseverance and commitment. Running with aching legs after the first day was tough, but I stayed committed and pushed through all three runs. Even when it felt difficult, I didn’t give up, and by the third run, I could see how much I had improved.

Overall, this cross-country run was a valuable learning experience that pushed me beyond my comfort zone. It helped me grow both physically and mentally while also teaching me the importance of perseverance and responsible decision-making.
