CAS Blog: Leading Dance for Community Service
I participated in a 6-day community service from August 24, 2024, to September 15, 2024, as the Dance category leader, conducting dance lessons for more than 80 underpriviledged children. Within 12 hours, I taught four dance routines, making sure the children did not just learn new things but also had fun while doing so. PurposeAs an avid dancer,I am always on the lookout for opportunities where I can learn and contribute to society at the same time. This CAS activity was tailor made for me since it involved composing new choreographies and teaching them to children who had no experience in dancing at all. I did not aim to merely teach dance but also to enhance their confidence, inspire self-expression, and make learning enjoyable. LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experienceIt was not easy to teach dance to more than 100 kids. Every kid learned at a different speed, and some struggled to learn the steps. […]
Rock Climbing : Activity
I chose rock climbing as my activity because it combines both physical challenge and mental focus, which I find exciting and motivating. I’ve always been drawn to activities that push me to test my limits, and climbing feels like the perfect way to do that. It’s not just about strength, but also about strategy, balance, […]
Global Oddesy
On 31 January 2025, I organized and ran a games stall for an in-school event. I, along with my group members, selected the games carefully that would draw visitors to our stall while making it visually appealing and attractive. This activity came under the Creativity strand of CAS since it involved brainstorming, designing, and implementing a plan that was fun as well as functional. Why a Games Stall?I volunteered to take part in this activity as I like planning and organizing events that unite people. A good games stall does not only enhance the fun in an event but also has a higher purpose—to raise funds for charity. This activity helped us support a No Poverty cause, further emphasizing the fact that every small, creative action can create a significant impact. LO1 – Identifying Strengths and Areas for ImprovementThis experience enabled me to identify my planning and teamwork strengths. I learned that I excelled at brainstorming interesting game concepts and coordinating the smooth delivery. I also realized areas of improvement, including time management […]

As a volunteer, I had the opportunity to conduct an origami workshop where I taught the children how to fold simple yet exciting paper models. The […]
Cross Country: Activity
Running or simply going for a jog on a treadmill is a practice I have maintained for a long time. So when the school presented an opportunity to participate in 3 runs outside the school property of 3km each as an activity. The experience allowed me to test my skills along with my physical capabilities. […]
Kalakriti
I will took part in dance at Kalakriti, an inter-school competition, on September 21, 2024. Dance has been an interest of mine since fourth grade, and this competition gives me a chance to perform, test myself with a physically challenging routine, and become a better performer. This activity comes under the Creativity strand of CAS, as it involves both physical effort and artistic expression. Why Kalakriti? My life has never been complete without dance, with which I was able to show myself and explore my physical potential. Through joining Kalakriti, I hope to sharpen my skills, develop stamina, and compete competitively. Not only will the event challenge me, but I will also be able to gain knowledge from fellow skilled dancers. Learning Outcomes DemonstratedLO1 – Identifying Strengths and Areas for GrowthThrough intense practice and competition, I will better appreciate my […]
