Strand : Creativity
Monsoon Musings, themed Safarnama, was an unforgettable experience that blended art, literature, and creativity. As a member of the decor team, I had the opportunity to contribute to the event’s visual appeal while also developing essential skills in planning, perseverance, and collaboration.
LOR 3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.
As part of the decor team, I took the initiative to plan and organize the setup to create an immersive atmosphere that reflected the essence of Safarnama. Along with my team, I helped select materials, coordinate tasks, and brainstorm designs to bring our vision to life. Setting deadlines and dividing responsibilities helped us stay on track, and we made real-time adjustments when necessary. At times, we had to think creatively to work around logistical issues, which strengthened my problem-solving and leadership skills. Seeing our ideas come together on the day of the event was truly rewarding.
LOR 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.
Executing our vision came with its fair share of challenges. Unexpected issues, such as last-minute changes and time constraints, tested our patience and adaptability. Despite these hurdles, we remained dedicated to our work, making adjustments and ensuring our ideas came to life. There were moments when we felt exhausted and moments when our thoughts won’t align, but through teamwork, we managed to push through. The long hours of effort taught me the importance of persistence and maintaining a positive attitude under pressure. It was satisfying to see how our hard work paid off when the final setup created the perfect ambiance for the event.
LOR 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
Decorating for Safarnama was all about teamwork and constant communication. I worked alongside my team, throwing around ideas, troubleshooting on the spot, and making sure everything came together smoothly. Some of us focused on the tiny, intricate details, while others handled the bigger structural elements—it was all about playing to our strengths. We learned to listen, compromise, and bring different perspectives into one cohesive setup. When we finally stepped back and saw everything come together, the sense of accomplishment was unbeatable.
