I participated in a school-organized Shark Tank event, wherein I pitched a business idea to the judge. The goal was to present a viable business concept, demonstrate entrepreneurial skills, and receive constructive feedback on the same. My objective was to refine my presentation skills, think critically about business strategies, and effectively convey my idea.

LO1 – Identify Own Strengths and Develop Areas for Growth
While preparing for the pitch, I realized my strengths in creative thinking and developing innovative solutions. My idea was well-received for its originality, which boosted my confidence. However, I identified a need to improve my communication and time management skills, as I found myself rushing through key points during the pitch. Recognizing these areas for growth has motivated me to work on clear and concise communication in future presentations.

LO2 – Demonstrate That Challenges Have Been Undertaken, Developing New Skills
One significant challenge was preparing a financial plan for the business, as I had limited knowledge of creating cost projections and profit margins. To overcome this, I researched financial models and other aspects online. This process not only helped me understand business finances better but also developed my analytical thinking and decision-making skills.

The event required weeks of preparation, including brainstorming sessions, market research, and rehearsing the pitch. Despite a busy academic schedule, I stayed committed to refining my idea and practicing regularly to ensure a professional presentation. This dedication helped me deliver a pitch I was proud of.

Collaboration was crucial, as I worked with a team to refine our business concept. We divided tasks based on individual strengths, which enhanced efficiency. Our teamwork and constructive feedback helped us create a well-rounded proposal and a visually appealing pitch deck.
