For my main CAS project, I took on the role of student leader for the Seniors’ Visual Arts Exhibition. This event was important for the seniors as it was the culmination of their creative journey, where they displayed their artworks to the school community. My responsibilities as the leader included assisting seniors in the finishing touches of their artworks, organizing the decoration and setup of the exhibition, planning the event timeline, and coordinating with the school’s events team. I was chosen for this role by my teacher because of my responsibility, multitasking ability, and strong communication skills.
This project demanded simultaneous handling of multiple responsibilities—supporting seniors, communicating with teachers and the events team, and making sure everything was completed on time. Through this, I was able to explore my leadership potential while also contributing to the success of an important school event.
LO1 – Identify Own Strengths and Develop Areas for Growth
This experience helped me reflect on my strengths as a leader. I realized that I was confident in taking responsibility, managing communication, and encouraging others. My ability to multitask effectively became a significant strength, as I often worked on event setup while also helping seniors finish their artwork. However, I also recognized areas for growth—such as handling stress during last-minute changes and improving time management when deadlines overlapped. These realizations gave me clarity on where I can further develop my leadership.
LO2 – Demonstrate That Challenges Have Been Undertaken, Developing New Skills
Leading the exhibition was a challenge because it required balancing creativity with organization. I had to quickly adapt to unexpected situations, such as last-minute decoration adjustments and coordinating with people who had different priorities. From these challenges, I developed new skills in delegation, problem-solving, and managing group dynamics. I also improved my event planning skills, which I had never fully experienced before.
LO3 – Initiate and Plan a CAS Experience
This project gave me the opportunity to initiate and plan an entire CAS experience. As the leader, I had to plan the event timeline, assign responsibilities, and ensure that each part of the exhibition came together smoothly. I initiated communication with the events team, created task lists, and organized the setup process. This required foresight, decision-making, and flexibility. The ability to plan, adapt, and execute an event on this scale showed me how much preparation and teamwork go into organizing any large activity.

LO4 – Show Perseverance and Commitment in CAS Experience
The success of the exhibition required consistent effort over several weeks. I demonstrated perseverance by staying committed to my responsibilities, even when balancing academic work with organizational tasks felt overwhelming. On certain days, I worked beyond school hours to ensure everything was completed, which highlighted my dedication to the project. My commitment was also reflected in how I continued motivating the team, making sure morale stayed high despite the workload.
LO5 – Demonstrate Skills and Recognize the Benefits of Working Collaboratively
Collaboration was at the heart of this project. I worked closely with seniors, teachers, and the events team, ensuring everyone’s inputs were valued and coordinated. I learned that good collaboration depends on clear communication and respect for everyone’s contributions. By supporting seniors in completing their artworks while also aligning with the events team’s requirements, I recognized the benefits of teamwork. The exhibition’s success was not just due to my leadership but because we worked as a collective unit.
