Project- Global odyssey

LO1: Identifying My Strengths and Areas for Growth

Participating in the Global Odyssey Project was one of my most significant CAS experiences. As part of the Business Management team, I was responsible for planning activities, coordinating logistics, and ensuring smooth collaboration among participants. Through this experience, I discovered my leadership and organizational strengths, I could take initiative, plan ahead, and keep track of multiple responsibilities. However, I also realized that I needed to manage my time more effectively, especially when juggling several tasks under tight deadlines. This awareness encouraged me to reflect on how I can balance efficiency and quality in future projects.

LO2: Demonstrating That Challenges Have Been Undertaken and New Skills Developed

The project came with its fair share of challenges, particularly when working under pressure to meet strict timelines. Handling last-minute changes, unexpected issues, and team stress taught me to become more flexible and communicative. I learned to adapt my plans quickly, delegate effectively, and maintain calmness in stressful situations. These experiences enhanced my problem-solving abilities and improved my confidence in managing people and processes in dynamic environments.

LO3: Initiating and Planning Activities

My role also involved initiating and coordinating different aspects of the project. From breaking down large tasks into smaller, manageable parts to assigning roles and ensuring accountability, I gained a practical understanding of project management. Leading meetings, setting timelines, and tracking progress helped me develop a structured approach to teamwork. It was fulfilling to see how strategic planning and clear communication transformed our ideas into a successful event.

LO4: Showing Commitment and Perseverance

Executing the Global Odyssey Project required dedication, consistency, and mental endurance. There were days when we worked long hours to refine presentations and finalize logistics. Despite fatigue and moments of doubt, I stayed committed because I genuinely believed in the project’s purpose. This perseverance helped me strengthen my discipline and taught me that consistent effort, even in small steps, leads to meaningful outcomes.

LO5: Working Collaboratively with Others

The success of the project relied heavily on teamwork and cooperation. Each team member brought unique skills and perspectives, and our ability to coordinate effectively determined the quality of the final result. I learned that collaboration is not just about dividing work , it’s about mutual support, listening, and respect. Working with others taught me to value diverse opinions and reinforced how collective effort can transform challenges into success.

LO6: Engagement with Global Issues

Our project’s business theme was deeply connected to global concerns such as sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation, aligning with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. It made me realize how businesses can play a vital role in building inclusive and sustainable economies. Understanding the intersection of creativity, ethics, and commerce gave me a new appreciation for the importance of socially responsible business practices in today’s interconnected world.

LO7: Considering the Ethics of Choices and Actions

Throughout the project, I reflected on the ethical dimensions of our decisions, from allocating resources fairly to ensuring inclusivity among all participants and stakeholders. It was important that everyone felt represented and respected. I learned that good leadership isn’t just about efficiency or results, but also about equity, transparency, and moral responsibility. This realization strengthened my understanding of what it means to lead with integrity.
