I was a part of the decor committee for the Global Odyssey event, where my role was to create hangings, headers, and other pieces of decor such that every guest felt welcome and immersed in the event. The decor is the first impression of any event so it was important to make the atmosphere cohesive and visually engaging.

LO3 – Initiate and plan a CAS experience

After the theme “Pink Lemonade” was chosen, I helped research ideas and concepts that could be integrated into the decor such that it was compatible with the venue and budget.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

Throughout the month spent planning this event, I showed commitment by consistently showing up, often even during free slots in order to make sure the event would be up to the mark. We also ran into some issues with limited time as the event day was approaching and we were lagging in progress, however, that was overcome with perseverance and dedication.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

For the decor team, working collaboratively proved to be very beneficial due to efficiency from delegation of tasks. Every person in the team had their own set of skills that they specialized in, and everyone had their own perspectives and ideas, so through collaboration we could make the event more visually appealing and the process more efficient.
