I chose this CAS experience because in HDP I selected cricket, and I wanted to improve my skills in the sport. This was my first experience playing with a season ball, which made it a new and challenging opportunity to develop my bowling skills and gain confidence as a player.

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth:
Throughout this experience, I realized that I have strong focus and enthusiasm for cricket, especially in bowling. However, I identified areas that needed improvement, such as accuracy, consistency, and stamina. By continuously practicing and reflecting on my performance, I learned how to use my strengths effectively while working on my weaknesses.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills:
Playing with a season ball was initially difficult because it required better grip, control, and precision. Adjusting to its weight and bounce took time, but I gradually adapted through regular training. This challenge helped me develop new skills and greater resilience when facing difficulties in sports.

LO5 – Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively:
Cricket taught me the importance of teamwork and communication. I learned to coordinate with my teammates, understand their playing styles, and support them both in practice and during matches. Working collaboratively allowed us to perform better and created a positive team environment built on trust and encouragement.

LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance:
Cricket is a globally played sport that unites people from different cultures and backgrounds. Through this activity, I became more aware of how sports foster unity, respect, and understanding among individuals across the world. Participating in cricket made me feel connected to a larger community that values cooperation and shared passion.

LO7 – Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions:
During this experience, I learned the importance of fairness and sportsmanship. Whether it was following rules, respecting the umpire’s decisions, or supporting opponents, I understood that ethical behavior is essential in sports. Maintaining honesty and integrity helped me build respect for others and represent myself and my school positively.
