Global odyssey (service)

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth:
Through this project, I discovered my strengths in areas such as creative thinkingmarketing, and problem-solving. For instance, I took initiative in designing our business logo and suggesting product ideas that appealed to our target audience. At the same time, I realized areas I need to improve, such as time management and delegating responsibilities effectively, which became apparent when our team faced tight deadlines.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills:
Planning and executing a business in a single day was challenging. Coordinating a team, managing limited resources, and ensuring the business ran smoothly required me to develop skills in entrepreneurship, teamwork, and adaptability. I learned how to respond to unexpected challenges, such as last-minute supply issues and fluctuating customer interest, which strengthened my resilience and ability to problem-solve under pressure.

LO3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience:
This activity required careful planning and initiative. Our team brainstormed ideas, created a structured action plan, allocated roles, and prepared marketing strategies to ensure our business operated successfully. This process taught me how to organize tasks, set achievable goals, and follow through with a plan, which is directly aligned with LO3.

LO4 – Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences:
Despite challenges, our group persevered to execute our business idea effectively. From early planning meetings to setting up the stall, managing sales, and handling transactions, I maintained consistent effort and commitment, ensuring our team reached its objectives.

LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively:
Collaboration was essential to our success. By dividing tasks according to each member’s strengths, communicating effectively, and resolving conflicts respectfully, we were able to work as a cohesive unit. This experience highlighted the value of teamwork and showed me how combining diverse skills leads to better outcomes.

LO6 – Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance:
Donating the profits to charity allowed our group to engage with a social cause and reflect on the impact of our actions on the wider community. This linked our business activity to global issues such as poverty and social responsibility, showing how entrepreneurial skills can be used ethically to benefit society.

LO7 – Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions:
Throughout the process, ethical decision-making was central. We ensured our products were sold fairly, profits were handled transparently, and all activities prioritized benefiting the charity rather than personal gain. This made me more aware of the ethical implications of business decisions and reinforced the importance of social responsibility.
