My team and I had a food stall at the Global Odyssey. For this even we did the planning for about a month which included planning for the food items, how we would price it and much more. I considered this CAS experience under creativity because we wanted our stall to have unique food items and not something that the customers could have everywhere. At our food stall we had snacks such as pink pasta made in a unique way, nachos made with new types of sauces. For beverages we had DIY coco where the customers would customise it according to how ever they like, and mojito which was made using cranberry and mixed berry juice unlike traditional mint mojitos.

LO 3 – Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience

I achieved this learning outcome by taking the initiative to organize and set up our food stall along with my teammates. We had to look at the food stall as a business and plan accordingly as to what all will we be selling, how will we be pricing each item, how will we make profit out of it and more. Other than planning for the stall we had to also plan about how the execution will happen, who will bring what items making sure we don’t miss out on anything. We had to plan everything in a way that everything takes place perfectly. We also had our plan Bs’ for if something goes wrong or does not go as planned.

LO 5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

This learning outcome was achieved while the entire process took place in a team. While we had to make every decision as a team, I understood how doing this alone would have been so difficult. In a team, everybody had a role to perform such as cooking, preparing or handling money. I learned to coordinate, communicate and rely on each other to make the stall successful. Even though working in a team created difference in opinions on the menu, pricing, or responsibilities which needed compromise and teamwork, working in a team was a great experience which taught me about the benefits of working in a team.
