The Karuna Club is dedicated to the welfare of stray dogs, focusing on feeding, vaccination awareness, and advocating for ethical treatment. As an animal lover, I was eager to contribute to efforts that improve the lives of stray animals in our community.
Reflection:
LO7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
One of the biggest lessons I learned was the ethical responsibility humans have toward animals. Many people see stray dogs as a nuisance, but through Karuna Club, I realized how much they suffer due to neglect and lack of care. It was fulfilling to take action and advocate for their rights.
LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
The club functioned through teamwork, as we coordinated feeding schedules, helped spread awareness, and worked with local shelters. Communication and dedication were essential to ensure that every stray in our designated areas received proper care.
LO6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
Stray animal welfare is not just a local issue, it’s a global challenge. Learning about sterilization programs and rescue operations worldwide gave me a broader understanding of how different communities tackle the issue.
