Monsoon Musings “Safarnama” literary event was a creatively enriching and personally fulfilling experience. While many showcased their talents through poems, book summaries, personal narratives, music, and dramas. I chose to contribute by focusing on the event’s visual and aesthetic appeal through event decoration. While working on the decor, it allowed me to express my artistic side in a non-verbal yet impactful way, setting the tone and ambiance for a literary celebration. From choosing thematic elements that reflected the idea of “Safarnama” (a journey), to coordinating colors, props, and layouts, I learned how visual storytelling can complement and enhance written or spoken narratives. More importantly, the experience honed my collaboration and team skills.
LO 2: Demonstrate That Challenges Have Been Undertaken, Developing New Skills in the Process
Participating in the Monsoon Musings “Safarnama“ literary event was both creatively enriching and personally fulfilling. This journey came with its share of challenges. A major obstacle was managing differing opinions and working styles within the volunteer team. Navigating these clashes improved my patience, adaptability, and interpersonal communication skills, which were essential for effective teamwork. I also had to balance creative ideas with practical limitations such as budget and logistics, which pushed me to think more critically and resourcefully. Time constraints further required me to improve my time management and organizational skills. These challenges not only contributed to the event’s success but also helped me grow personally. I developed valuable skills like collaboration, problem-solving, and flexibility, which will support me in future academic and professional environments.
LO 4: Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
Organising Monsoon Musings “Safarnama” required strong commitment and perseverance. Balancing event responsibilities with academics was challenging, especially with only five days to prepare. Despite time constraints and unexpected setbacks, I stayed focused and motivated. Preparing decor for two venues felt overwhelming at times, but I pushed through with a positive attitude and a solution-focused mindset. This experience taught me the value of dedication and resilience, and showed me how staying committed leads to success, even under pressure.


LO 5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively
The success of Monsoon Musings “Safarnama” highlighted the importance of collaboration and teamwork. Working as part of a diverse team required clear communication, trust, and coordination to ensure smooth event execution. I learned that effective division of responsibilities was key , each member had a unique role, and by delegating tasks, we improved our overall efficiency. When disagreements arose over themes or setup, we chose to engage in open discussions and find solutions that worked for everyone. Teamwork also proved crucial during last-minute challenges, such as delayed materials and layout changes, where quick collaboration helped us adapt. This experience helped me develop essential collaborative skills, including compromise, shared leadership, and collective problem-solving, while deepening my appreciation for what a united team can achieve.
Lastly, my experience with Monsoon Musings “Safarnama” was truly transformative. It pushed me beyond my comfort zone, encouraged me to develop new skills, and strengthened my ability to collaborate effectively. By overcoming challenges, showing perseverance, and embracing teamwork, I experienced meaningful personal and professional growth.
