Lit Fest (Creativity)

Being a part of the LIT Fest 2025 I had a very nice chance of being in the Games Team where me and my freind designed and executed a Cornhole game but in a unique way which connected to Language and Literature. This was a event of celebration with some literary genres and I was excited about contributing in a way that combined fun and learning. Through time I gained valuable insights about teamwork and problem solving. Through this experience it helped me grow both personally and as a team member while meeting key CAS learning outcomes .

LO1: Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth.

Being a part of the Games Team made me understand my strenghts and areas that needed improvement. One of the strenght was creativity as I was able to use it effectively by coming up with the idea of a cornhole game while integrating Language and Literature in it which would fit in the event and make it exciting for the students to play. I also realized I need to have more patience as there were moments where more time was being taken and I got irritated by it. This experience helped me understand the importance of staying calm when working on a group project and learned to manage my work and accept and face the challenges which was a valuable lesson which I will carry to the future.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

Making the cornhole game gave me a experience of taking an idea from planning to a complete product. Me and my freind worked together to design the setup, establish the rules, and ensure the game’s connection to literature was clear. I played a major role in arranging the event space and making the people who came play the game on the day of the festival. This experience taught me the importance of teamwork for betterment. Unexpected challenges came, but we handled them effectively by communicating and adjusting our work. I learned that sucessful event planning cant be dont alone and t requires understanding of people and teamwork for ease.

LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.

One of the most important aspects of this experience was ensuring that our game was fair and can be played by all the age groups from child to adult regaedless of the knowledge they had and still be able to enjoy the activity. This meant designing clear and simple rules which could be used for everyone. I also got to know about how small decisions change the overall experience.Taking responsibility for making the game inclusive reinforced the importance of thoughtful decision-making in collaborative projects.

LO7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions.

while making the ga e we had to be cautious about being fair and inclusive. It was important that all the age group have equal level of hardness in the game ad they felt comfortable playing. We carefully structured the game rules to ensure that it did not favor any specific group and that everyone could participate regardless of the age group. This experience made me realize how important is rule making to make it fair for all and every age group should and is been treated equally may it be junior or senior.

Conclusion

This experience as part of the LIT Fest 2025 Games Team was great as it pushed me to be more patient and ehanced my problem-solving skills. it gave me a nice experience of event planning and I also gained knowledge of making the games inclusice and engaging for all.
