Participating in Global Odyssey was an exciting and enriching experience that allowed me to explore creativity and entrepreneurship. I managed a fashion stall featuring claw clips, jewellery, and stickers, which required me to design an appealing setup, curate products, and engage with customers. This activity not only helped me develop my business acumen but also enhanced my problem-solving skills and creativity in marketing. From planning inventory to understanding customer preferences, the experience was a blend of innovation, adaptability, and strategic thinking.

Learning Outcomes Achieved:

  1. LO1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth – Running the stall helped me recognize my strengths in creativity and communication while also identifying areas such as pricing strategy and customer interaction that needed improvement.
  2. LO2: Demonstrate challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills – Managing sales, handling different customer demands, and adjusting marketing strategies on the spot were challenges that helped me develop adaptability and negotiation skills.
  3. LO3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience – Organizing the stall required thorough planning, from selecting products to arranging the display and determining the pricing, ensuring a smooth operation on the event day.
  4. LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively – Collaborating with peers for setup, marketing, and sales management highlighted the importance of teamwork in ensuring smooth and effective stall operations.
  5. LO7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions – Pricing products fairly, ensuring honest dealings with customers, and maintaining integrity in sales decisions reinforced ethical business practices.

In conclusion, Global Odyssey was an incredible experience that allowed me to combine creativity with entrepreneurship. Managing a fashion stall required innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving, all of which contributed to my personal and professional growth. This experience has inspired me to further explore creative business ventures and develop essential life skills for the future.
