Rock Climbing

In this activity, we had to climb the wall with harnesses connected to us. This activity demands high physical strength and hand-leg coordination to go smoothly towards the top of the wall.

Learning Outcome 1 : Identify Own Strengths and Develop areas for Growth

I opted for this event as I wanted to develop my physical strength and I have never done rock climbing, so, this was an opportunity for me to get the experience. I took the opportunity and it was a very engaging activity and was easy to learn and do. However, on the first day it was hard to get accustomed to the wall and to your body weight. The first climbs will start to tear some muscles and increase the strength for the next round of climbing. Gradually, it increases your arm strength and hand-leg coordination.

Learning Outcome 2 : Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skill

I did not know how to climb a wall but this helped me learn and develop my physical strength. I developed a new skill and learned that in the start it was difficult to complete, but doing it regularly will make easy to do.

Learning Outcome 4 : Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

I was committed in this event and it is very evident.

Learning Outcome 5 : Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

For this activity, we had to hold our peers who is climbing on the wall. We hold the rope that the climber can climb safely and without fear. The result of working collaboratively was that the climbers were able to reach to the top of the wall, easily and quickly.
