Cross Country Run

The Cross Country Run was a physically demanding event where I had to complete three separate 3 km runs. Each race tested my stamina, endurance, and mental strength, pushing me to improve with every run. My hard work and perseverance paid off when, in the final race, I placed 3rd, marking a significant personal achievement. This CAS experience, under Activity, not only enhanced my physical abilities but also taught me valuable lessons about self-improvement, resilience, and dedication.

Explanation of Learning Outcomes

LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth

Throughout this experience, I was able to recognize my strengths in running, such as my ability to maintain a steady pace and push through fatigue. At the same time, I identified areas for improvement, particularly in speed control and breathing techniques. After each run, I analyzed my performance and worked on refining my techniques, which contributed to my progress and eventual success in the final race.

LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills

Long-distance running is both physically and mentally challenging. The first two races were tough, and I struggled with maintaining my stamina over the entire 3 km. However, instead of being discouraged, I adjusted my training, improved my pacing strategy, and focused on endurance-building exercises. These efforts helped me develop new skills in race strategy, breathing control, and energy conservation, ultimately leading to my improved performance in the last run.

LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience

Cross-country running required consistent effort, discipline, and mental resilience. There were moments when I felt exhausted and wanted to slow down, but I remained committed to improving. Despite setbacks in the earlier races, I continued to train, push my limits, and stay focused on my goal. My perseverance was rewarded when I managed to secure 3rd place in the final race, proving that hard work and dedication lead to success.

Conclusion

The Cross Country Run was not just a physical challenge but a transformative learning experience. It helped me develop self-awareness, endurance, and determination, while also teaching me that improvement comes with persistence and effort. Achieving 3rd place in the final race was a proud moment that reinforced my belief in hard work and continuous self-improvement. Moving forward, I plan to continue running, refine my techniques, and challenge myself in future endurance events.
