Global Odyssey, an even organized by the Business management and Economics students is a showcase of our experience while establishing an one-day business. In this event, we have to develop our own business in a group where we plan; which involves creation of a name, logo and list of products we are going to sell, initiate efforts for working on the plan and finally execute the idea.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
In the process of developing our my businesses and that too in a group for the very first time, I had encountered many problems. Coordination, settling on a common ground(decision making) and leadership were some problems which raised in our group but I learnt a new thing through every encounter. I learnt that no matter how many problems come in my way, there always be a solution attached. We had conversations and tried to resolve the issues together which helped me to continue going ahead with the event.
LO4 – Show commitment to, and perseverance in, CAS experiences.
Though there were some conflicts which made me feel like giving up on my commitment mid way but despite that I continued. I stayed aware of of all the discussions happening within my group and was actively involved in them while showcasing leadership. Throughout the journey I developed patience which helped me in staying persistent and due to which I was able to accomplish my goal.
LO5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.
Through global odyssey I could recognize the advantages of having a team to work with. No matter how many conflicts raise, working together through them always finds a way to success. In a team I had people to share equal work and effort which eventually resulted into a successful attempt of creating a business together.
LO7 – Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions.
Ethics is the most important aspect of carrying a business and we as a team chose to abide by that. From deciding the prices of our products to managing revenue, we stayed true to business ethics as well as personal principles.
