The rural immersion helped me by allowing me to develop key skills like communication, tem work, and adaptation. It gave me the opportunity to live in an environment that is completely out of my comfort zone and away from my family, enhancing my ability to be self independent and communicate with others who were accompanying me on the trip. The trip also taught me how to adapt to a place that is new to me and problem solving. Through this experience I strengthened my sense of empathy and responsibility, as I went to explore different lifestyles. The trip was 7 days long where each day was planned for us to help us understand different things that are included in Khilad’s people’s lifestyle. [ add the trip detail]

Learning Outcome 1: Identify Your Own Strengths and Develop Areas for Personal Growth
In a number of ways, the CAS trip forced me to step beyond my comfort zone, which helped me think about my advantages and shortcomings. One important insight I gained was my capacity to interact with local communities and adjust to different surroundings. Despite the language barrier, I was able to establish contacts and communicate successfully with schoolchildren during the village tour. I did see, though, that I needed to improve my patience, particularly when engaging in group activities like farm work and Warli painting. I hope to develop more patience and mindfulness in future group situations by realising this.

Learning Outcome 2: Demonstrate That Challenges Have Been Undertaken, Developing New Skills in the Process
I had many chances to participate in new activities throughout the CAS trip that tested my physical and mental limits. The hike to Toraniyo Dungar and rappelling were two of the more taxing tasks. I was nervous at first, but by overcoming my worries, I became more resilient and self-assured. Learning how to make bamboo crafts at Ambapada presented another difficulty, requiring me to practise patience and fine motor skills. I gained persistence and flexibility from these experiences, which reaffirmed the value of venturing outside of my comfort zone in order to learn new abilities.

Learning Outcome 4: Show Commitment to and Perseverance in CAS Experiences
It was crucial to stay energised and enthusiastic during the journey, particularly given the full schedule of creative and physical activities. I continued to participate in all scheduled activities, including farm labour and cultural events like Warli painting and local music, even though I was exhausted. Perseverance was essential in the Lipan (cow dung) wall art project, for example. I was committed to finishing the assignment even though it needed constant effort and close attention to detail. This experience made me realise how important commitment and resilience are—skills that would help me in my future undertakings.

Learning Outcome 5: Demonstrate the Skills and Recognize the Benefits of Working Collaboratively
Many activities centred around collaboration, especially team-based activities like planning games with schoolchildren and getting ready for the skit. These encounters strengthened the notion that collaboration produces more satisfying and successful results. I saw how effective communication and responsibility division increased production when working on farm duties. I really valued the various viewpoints that my peers shared during the narrow-gauge train ride and group discussions, which enhanced my comprehension of the experience. These incidents served as a reminder of how important cooperation is to reaching shared objectives.

Learning Outcome 7: Recognize and Consider the Ethics of Choices and Actions
Ethical issues were brought to light through interaction with rural communities and education about their lifestyle. I was prompted to consider sustainable methods and ethical consumption after visiting the Krishi Vigyan Kendra and the turmeric processing factory, which brought to light the difficulties faced by local farmers. I also became more aware of the effects that our actions can have on other people after taking part in community service projects like school games and wall painting. These encounters prompted me to reflect critically about moral judgement and the significance of making decisions that advance society.

All things considered, the CAS trip was a life-changing event that helped me grow as a person and interact with the community in a meaningful way. It strengthened my knowledge of tenacity, collaboration, moral consciousness, and the value of pushing myself to grow as a person.
