Community clean up drive was organised by the school, it was open for all, also for the enthusiastic expect from our school. In the clean up drive we went for three weeks, in every week for two days and these days gave me real happiness. We had to clean up plastic waste only, which was going to a NGO for recycling the waste and as it’s a good cause I wanted to be a part of it. We cleaned two locations, one was across a river, in an urban area. As it was surrounded by the urban area, the people had faced consequences because of the plastic waste and it gave me one more reason for being part of this good practice, the second location was a beach.
Learning Outcome 6: Demonstrate Engagement With Issues Of Global Significance
We are all aware that Surat has potential to improve cleanliness, hence our small drive has made a little change for few people perspective. Additionally this small drive addresses SDGs, first: good health and well-being. Cleaning the plastic debris will benefit the health of homeless dogs, living there as they consume the waste, which is hazardous. Following the second SDG, sustainable cities and communities and third, life on land.

Learning Outcome 7: Recognize And Consider The Ethics Of Choices And Actions
This community clean up drive is considered as ethically right because we are fulfilling the responsibility as a citizen. Before this activity I thought there won’t be much waste and we will be able to cover a small area which will be assigned to us, it’s not a big of a deal. But during the experience honestly we observed the plastic waste in 5 meters only it shocked us, and it took us a lot of time to clean it. After that experience it changed my opinion completely. This activity shows the actions we have taken for the cleanliness of our city. Sanitization, good health, toxic micro plastic, these all cover the global issues and goals which have to be achieved by the small acts like this drive.
