Jaipur Literature Festival 2025: Creativity

Jaipur Literature Festival is held every year, it’s an event where famous personalities come and share their experience, knowledge and also promote their books. Visiting JLF was a great opportunity, given by school, where we could learn the art of storytelling, and what goes behind the scenes of narrating a book. Also JLF was more than about literature there were sessions about mythology, politics, cooking recipes and other global subjects.

Learning Outcome 1: Identify Own Strengths And Develop Areas For Growth

JLF’s session had a lot to learn, from the expert or the experienced personality. For an example the session of Kailash Kher, in his session he shared about his struggle. The struggle was about how people judges the capability of a person by observing his subjects and the financial background. Here I got to learn how society’s mindset affects your future success rather than your talent and hardwork. Also how the society biases with science students, reflects the behaviour with commerce and specially art students, blindly believing art students are not smart which is factually wrong. This knowledge led me to self analysis, observing all the aspects that make me look smart and where society can pinpoint me for degrading my confidence. This gave me the reason for growth by gaining more knowledge and preparing for the future.

Learning Outcome 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.

Being a part of JLF was very exciting for me but I also had a few questions as well because I had never been part of any literature festival, it was a bit challenging for me. Being in an environment like JLF was very new so I had doubts like, Will I be able to fit in the environment? Eventually after the discussion in school regarding JLF I was fitting in with the group. Also the last batch also shared their experience which made me comfortable and made me think it would be fun. If there were no discussion it would have been challenging for me because my head would be covered with all questions and eventually I would go on the trip with negative thoughts. But opening up with everyone made it easier for me.

Learning Outcome 5:  Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

On the trip we had a tradition of sharing the experience of the day, what all fun we had done, which session we had attended and what knowledge we had gained? This circle was beneficial to all because there we shared the short summary of every session, so that other members can also get the information. The reflection that we had done was easier and fun compared to writing the reflection.Additionally it also developed communication skill, open-mindness and collaboration skill. Open-mindedness because we can share our perspective about the session and respectively others also gave their opinion on the same. This is how I demonstrated my skill and got benefited by working collaboratively on this trip.
