I was selected to promote and market the event of Global Odyssey 5.0- Fountainhead’s annual business fair organized by the Grade 11 Business Management and Economics students. My responsibilities for the event consisted of collaborating with peers to create social media content for the event. I used my prior knowledge from promoting FSMUN and applied existing skills to market Global Odyssey.
Learning Outcome 1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
For this CAS experience, I was able to identify my strengths and prior knowledge in social media management and marketing, with my previous experiences with Fountainhead’s Model United Nations as an organizing committee member for social media. Through this past experiences, I had developed my skills and applied the same in my new experience through Global Odyssey, I was able to extend on these skills and develop this area, growing as a learner.
Learning Outcome 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
I mainly faced challenges with collaboration, as it was quite challenging to meet the needs and requirements of all the members, with challenges such as including all the participants in the reels being posted, considering different ideas that Global Odyssey participants, mainly social media members, were coming up with and organizing them. To overcome this challenge, we created a content calendar, comprising of all information related to the marketing of the event, and developed planning skills.

Learning Outcome 3: Initiate and plan a CAS experience

As a co-leader for social media and marketing for Global Odyssey, I helped plan the experience. The co-leaders for social media and I were very organized as we decided to create a content calendar that would help us keep track of all the content and whether or not it was being ideated upon, filmed or posted.
Learning Outcome 4: Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
I believe I showed perseverance and commitment in this CAS experience, as I was actively working on tasks, both in and out of school. My co-leader and I were working on tasks such as editing and posting content outside of school. We maintained consistency on the page, that lead our page reaching 2k+ accounts and around 12k views on some of our content. These results are depictive of our consistency on the page that led to the instagram handle being a success!
Learning Outcome 5: Demonstrate skills and benefits of working collaboratively

I collaborated with a lot of my peers to help make the event successful. At a smaller scale, I collaborated with my social media co-leader for content creation. I also collaborated with leaders from other teams alongside all the students participating in the event. I think through collaboration and teamwork, all the leaders and participants were able to make Global Odyssey a successful event!
