I took part in a cross-country competition at my school as part of my activity. I was able to test my boundaries, acquire valuable skills, and reflect back on my development during this physically exhausting and personally enriching adventure. I was able to interact with several CAS learning objectives during this exercise, which aided in my general growth.
LO 1: Identify Own Strengths and Develop Areas for Growth
Participating in cross country made me recognize my endurance and perseverance. Although I had always loved running, I was never very good at long-distance competitions. I was motivated to improve my stamina and pace by taking part in this. I gradually worked on the breathing skills and speed consistency that I had discovered needed better through training.
LO 4: Show Commitment to and Perseverance in CAS Experiences
The cross-country competition requires dedication to train for and finish. It put my strength and mental fortitude to the test because we had to perform it three times. Even if I felt worn out or discouraged at times, I forced myself to keep going and complete the marathon. My endurance and performance improved as a result of my diligent training and dedication to this event. One important lesson was the ability to remain committed in the face of difficulties.
LO 5 : Demonstrate the Skills and Recognise the Benefits of Working Collaboratively
Even though cross country is an individual sport. Running alongside my peers inspired me to work harder, and we supported one another the entire time. Our friendship improved our performance as a team and added enjoyment to the event.

More than just a race, the cross-country competition offered a chance for development, resiliency, and self-discovery. It gave me the opportunity to push myself, make goals for myself, and diligently pursue them. Additionally, the experience strengthened critical life skills including determination, cooperation, and ethical judgment. All things considered, this CAS exercise was a worthwhile experience that I will continue in both my academic and personal life.
