Each sessions began with warm-up sessions that includes, running laps, stretching exercises, push-ups, planks to get our body warmed up. After that, we took turns for climbing the walls at least one per session. Over time, I noticed a significant progress in my strength, techniques and confidence. With having consistent practice, I noticed a remarkable in the height that I could reach, as well as in my speed, hand grip, and balance.
LO1 Identifying strengths and develop areas for growth
My first attempt at rock climbing revealed my skills in strength, balance, and adaptability while posing a challenge that was both physically and mentally difficult. I noticed the areas I was skillful in but there were some things that I had to work on as well. For instance, I realized that I needed to work on my endurance, upper body strength, and grip in order to achieve a higher level of climbing. Self-awareness is important to work towards in order to grow personally, in addition to constant self improvement. Each new session helped me polish my grip and stamina while simultaneously getting rid of my weaknesses. To ensure that I gained more self-confidence, I forced myself out of my comfort zone and practiced consistently, which helped improve my techniques, as well as my performance.
LO2 Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
Rock climbing was both physically and mentally challenging and required a lot of determination. At first, I was having a tough time because of problems with grip strength, coordination, and endurance. However, after consistent practice, I was able to overcome these challenges through better balance and increased upper body strength. Additionally, a new skill i learned was to remain calm under pressure, which helped me in strategizing my moves and overcoming climbing routes more effectively. Eventually, I learned how to build a greater amount of confidence and strength, and it helped me to understand the benefits of stepping out of my comfort zone.
