Global Odyssey – Creativity

LO 2: Taking on challenges and developing new skills

Running the photobooth stall was both exciting and challenging. One of the biggest hurdles was attracting customers, especially in the beginning when people weren’t showing much interest. I had to think on my feet, experimenting with different marketing strategies like adjusting prices, promoting the booth more actively, and engaging directly with potential customers. This experience helped me develop problem-solving skills and made me more adaptable. I also improved my ability to communicate effectively with different types of people, which is an essential skill in any business setting.

LO 3: Planning and initiating the experience

Setting up the photobooth wasn’t just about showing up on the day—it required a lot of preparation. I had to plan everything from budgeting and sourcing props to designing an attractive setup and creating a marketing strategy. I also had to think about how to engage customers and make the experience enjoyable for them. Through this process, I learned the importance of organization and strategic planning. I also realized that even the smallest details—like the placement of the props or the way we welcomed customers—could make a big difference in the overall success of the stall.

LO 4: Commitment and perseverance

The event didn’t always go as planned, and there were moments when things got tough. At times, the booth wasn’t attracting as many people as expected, which was discouraging. However, instead of giving up, I stayed committed and kept looking for ways to improve. I adjusted my approach by interacting more with attendees, encouraging groups to take fun photos, and making the experience more engaging. Over time, this persistence paid off, and more people started showing interest. This experience reinforced the value of staying committed and continuously adapting to challenges rather than getting discouraged.

LO 5: Collaboration and teamwork

Running the photobooth was not a solo effort—it required teamwork. I worked closely with my teammates to divide tasks efficiently, whether it was managing the cash, handling customer interactions, or setting up the props. We had to communicate constantly to make sure everything was running smoothly. This experience made me realize how important teamwork is in a business setting. Everyone brought different strengths to the table, and by working together, we were able to create a fun and successful experience for our customers.
