LO 1: Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth.
Rural immersion put us in situation of discomfort away from a lifestyle that we are used to. After reflecting upon the trip, I realised that I often struggle with adjusting to new situations and adjusting to them, hence, I worker upon it by putting my self into uncomfortable situations and learning to accomodate.
LO 2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
The challenge I faced in the trip was of organising my things and keeping them in check. I would often loose things during trips and hence had to take care of them. During the trip, I had to constantly keep my suitcase organised such that I would not loose things and I developed the skill of organisation.
LO 3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.
During the trip, we as students organised a games event for children in the local school who were not that privileged. We made them play football, kho-kho and other games, which firstly allowed us to bond along with allowing us to expose them to and make them experience morden day games.
LO 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.
It was a 7 day trip, where we engaged in an array of activites that we had to do, and as shown in the images, I did all the activity to the fullest of my potential. This showcased my commitment and perseverance towards the CAS experience. I learnt a lot from each activity such as different art forms like warli painting, making a plate, rifle shooting, and much more.
LO 5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively.
Throughout the trip, we were involved in various team activites throughout the trip, such as team games. This is where we made connections with fellow grade members and worked collaboratively. This made me learn how things become easier while working with a team.
LO 6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance.
When we travelled around the rural areas, we understood how there was a lack of healthcare and education, which concerned the global SDG goals. We learnt about them during the trip and thought about the solutions during reflection time.
LO 7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions.
We learnt how the waste that we generate can lead to problems in the forest such when we picked up waste and made sure to learn the ethics of our actions. Along with that, we also learnt how our actions affect the rural life and how they have a lasting impact on the community, making me think more about how their life is affected by our actions, making me consider my actions and the ethics of it.
