LO 3: Demonstrate how to initiate and plan a CAS experience.
As an OC head, a lot of Planning was required to stay ahead to time and on deadlines, where we as a team had to allocate work to different OCs, plan timelines so that work was completed well before time and the required information was passed on to the concerned person. I mainly took care of train tickets for the EBs along with the menu of both the confrence days. And while this might seem as an easy task to accomplish, it required a lot of planning and communication, specially because majority of my team members belonged to IB MYP, where the timetables are very different so we had no common time to meet in school and had to plan our meetings that were short and effective so that it did not hamper our study time.
LO 4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences.
The process of decor and logistics was a long process spread over a time of multiple weeks. This is where I had to find trains for EBs, cheap yet quality goods like folders, pens and also look for sponsership. I was successful at the task and it could not have been without proper commitment.
LO 7: Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions.
As I was working in a team, and heading a team of OCs myself, I had to critically think how my actions and choices would impact the work done by the team. This was put into action when we had to allocate work to the OCs. I had to look at the strength and weaknesses of each individual and give them work so that it was done efficiently. Moreover, there were people who did not work in the team, and I had to consider the impact of still keeping them in the team and that is where I had to make an ethical choice of warning them first and removing them if needed.
