Decor Volunteer for Grade 12 Farewell (Creativity)

I was a member of the Decor Team when organizing the Batch fo 2025’s farewell. My role included creating decorations for the event as well as assisting the core committee members with whatever help they needed even beyond the purview of decor.

Learning Outcome 1: Identify Strengths and Develop Areas for Growth

When I signed up to be a volunteer for the Decor Team, it was like herding in unchartered territory because I was well aware that my skillset was more suitable for logistical tasks. However, I took the challenge and started with easier tasks such as cutting prints and painting large letters. Nevertheless, as the weeks passed, I felt more confident in my creativity skills and took on more complex tasks such as creating boomboxes and cassettes from their printed layout.

Learning Outcome 3: Initiate and Plan a CAS Experience

As a volunteer for the decor team for the Grade 12 farewell, I actively contributed to the planning and execution of the event’s decorations. My role involved brainstorming creative decor ideas, coordinating with the team to finalize designs, and ensuring that the decorations aligned with the farewell theme. I took initiative in sourcing materials, cutting prints, painting, and assembling various decorative elements to enhance the overall ambiance of the event.

Learning Outcome 4: Show Perseverance and Commitment in CAS Experience

My role as a volunteer for the decor team required consistent dedication and effort over approximately two months. As the event approached, I demonstrated perseverance by coming to school early every day to ensure that all decor elements were completed on time.
