Learning Outcome 2: Undertaking New Challenges
Selling fashion items was a new challenge for me. I had to learn how to price items effectively, manage inventory, and handle customer service inquiries. Initially, I experienced some turbulence; for instance, one of my pop-up events fell flat in terms of sales. However, this setback provided crucial insights into market dynamics and consumer behavior. It pushed me to rethink my marketing strategies and experiment with different types of promotions, ultimately leading to improved sales.
Learning Outcome 3: Planning and Initiative
Planning was a key component of my success. I created a detailed business plan outlining my goals, target market, and marketing strategies. Set timelines and objectives kept me on track, while weekly reflections helped me adjust my strategies in real time. This demonstrated invaluable organizational skills and instilled in me a sense of initiative as I navigated various tasks, from sourcing materials to budgeting.
Learning Outcome 4: Working Collaboratively with Others
Collaboration was pivotal to my project. I partnered with local shopkeeper to create unique handmade items and outsourcing raw materials. Additionally, I engaged with my peers by effectively creating a partnership for the booth.
Learning Outcome 5: Engaging with Issues of Global Significance
I engaged with the critical issues surrounding fast fashion and its impact on the environment. I took the initiative to educate my audience about the benefits of sustainable fashion, sharing resources and insights. This awareness-raising initiative not only informed my peers but also sparked conversations about responsible consumerism.
