I have been part of an amazing NGO called Enrichmnt runned by one of my friends. I’m really glad to be part of this NGO since it gave me an opportunity to serve the community by going and teaching at government school where students come from an underprivileged background with not much facilities and study opportunities available.

Learning Outcome 5 – Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively
- Going and teaching students in a government school was not just an individual task, rather, it was a group task where there were multiple people involved in this. We would constantly update the group members on their status, ask them whether they are going to come or not and even while teaching, teach in a group. It at start felt slightly difficult but as the time passed, we started to get the hang of it and got the flow of working together. Without the people in this group, it would have been a difficult task to handle a whole classroom of 20+ kids single-handedly.

Learning Outcome 6 – Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance
- Quality Education is currently a global issue which is faced almost throughout the whole world. There are multiple places and students in the world who do not gave the access to quality education and are required to study in a school with no proper study facilities or material. It can be due to multiple reason such as financial issue. Thinking about this global issue and its scale made me engage in this global issue by doing something which, even though in small scale, can help solve the problem. And this is how I’m engaging in global issue of quality education via Enrichmnt.

Learning Outcome 7 – Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions
- When performing this experience, there can and were multiple ethical concerns raised. For instance, one of the issue was of qualification. The teachers were scared that whether if we provide wrong information or teach the wrong stuff, the future of the kids would be ruined. And to solve this issue, we make plans right before the session where we are aware of the things that we need to teach and also ask teachers what sort of resources they can provide to us. Furthermore, other issue was that improper handling of issues related to behaviour can lead to the student getting harm emotionally and physically. To solve this, we understood the policies of the school on what they have to say and even always had one teacher sitting at the back to ensure everything is alright.

To conclude, it was and is a great experience of working with Enrichmnt and teaching students of government school. I have been part of this NGO for maybe over 6 months and would be continuing and stay part of this NGO for as long as possible. This has not just allowed me to teach the students, but also taught me multiple valuable things about life.
