Lit Fest-Creativity

As a member of the Lit Fest 2025 decor team, I got the chance to help decorate the entire event. While working on it, I realized how much I actually enjoy designing and decorating spaces. I worked on several areas around the school, and the final setup looked amazing.

LO 1: Identifying own strengths and developing areas for growth

During the Lit Fest 2025, I discovered that I truly enjoy decorating and designing spaces. I have always liked doing creative work, but this event helped me realize that I have a real talent for planning, arranging, and setting up decorations in an organized way. It made me see that I am good at turning ideas into actual designs that look beautiful in real spaces. However, I also realized that I need to improve how I manage my time. Balancing my studies and the event was not easy, and sometimes I felt rushed. By the end of the project, I learned how to plan better, divide my time wisely, and stay more organized. This experience made me more confident about my creative skills and taught me that improvement never stops.

LO2: Demonstrating that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

Decorating the entire school for the Lit Fest was not an easy task at all. We had a lot of areas to cover, but only a few people on our team and very little time. This made the work quite stressful, but it also taught me how to handle pressure and stay calm when things get difficult. I learned how to think quickly, make decisions fast, and finish tasks even when there were last-minute changes. I also gained new creative skills, such as arranging decorations in balance, matching colors correctly, cutting materials neatly, and using limited items in smart ways. Every problem we faced helped me learn something new and become more confident in my decorating abilities.

LO4: Showing commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences

I showed full dedication and commitment throughout the whole process. For 15 days before the event, I came to school early every day to work on the decorations. I didn’t miss a single day and made sure to stay focused until everything was ready. There were days when I felt tired, but I still pushed myself to keep working because I wanted the event to look perfect. My consistency and determination helped me grow a lot. When I finally saw how beautiful the school looked during the festival, I felt proud that all my hard work and effort had paid off. This experience taught me that success only comes with patience, effort, and never giving up

LO5: Demonstrating the skills and recognizing the benefits of working collaboratively

Working with the decor team was one of the best parts of the experience. Each member of the team had different strengths some people were great at painting, others were good at cutting, designing, or setting up materials. I mainly focused on layout, color themes, and organizing how things should be arranged. We all supported each other, shared ideas, and divided the work so that everything could be completed on time. I learned how to communicate better with others, respect different opinions, and help each other when someone was struggling. Working together made the project more fun and showed me how important teamwork is in achieving big goals.

LO7: Recognising and considering the ethics of choices and actions

While planning the decorations, we made sure that everything we did was ethical and sustainable. We chose to use eco-friendly materials and avoided single use plastics completely. We reused old banners, recycled papers, and other leftover materials from previous events instead of buying new ones. This helped reduce waste and save resources. We also made sure that our decorations were inclusive, respectful, and suitable for everyone in the school community. This experience helped me understand that even in creative work, our choices have an impact on the environment and people around us. I learned how small actions, like using recycled materials, can make a big difference in promoting sustainability.

Conclusion

Being part of the Lit Fest 2025 Decor Team was a great experience. I learned new skills, worked with others, and discovered how much I enjoy decorating. It taught me to manage my time better, stay committed, and be creative even with limited resources. I also learned the importance of using eco-friendly materials. Overall, it was a fun and rewarding experience that helped me grow and feel proud of what our team achieved.
