Pickleball tournament

I participated in a one-day Pickleball Tournament organized for a charitable cause. The event involved multiple matches against various participants, requiring teamwork, strategy, focus, and adaptability. This tournament provided an opportunity to challenge myself physically and mentally while contributing to a meaningful social cause.

Learning Outcomes:

  • LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth:
During the tournament, I discovered that my strengths lie in focus, quick decision-making, and teamwork, particularly when coordinating with a doubles partner. At the same time, I realized areas for growth, such as improving consistency under pressure and enhancing my agility during fast-paced rallies. Reflecting on these aspects has motivated me to continue refining my skills in both technique and strategy.
  • LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills:
Competing in the tournament challenged me to adapt quickly to different opponents and match situations. I developed new skills in anticipation, tactical decision-making, and coordination, which were essential for maintaining performance under competitive pressure. The experience also helped me improve my communication skills when collaborating with partners and supporting fellow participants.
  • LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience:
Matches were physically demanding, and there were moments when fatigue and setbacks made it tempting to lose focus. However, I remained committed throughout the tournament, pushing through challenging rallies and completing all scheduled matches. This perseverance strengthened my resilience and determination.
  • LO6 – Engagement with issues of global significance:
The tournament was organized as a for-cause event, highlighting the importance of using personal skills and passions to contribute to social causes. By participating, I helped raise awareness and funds for the community, demonstrating how individual action can support broader social and ethical goals.

Reflection:
This experience allowed me to grow both personally and socially. I learned to recognize my strengths and areas for improvement, adapt under pressure, and persevere through challenges. Participating in a for-cause event reinforced the value of combining personal skills with social responsibility. Overall, it was a rewarding opportunity to develop both athletic and interpersonal skills while contributing to a meaningful cause.
