Volunteering for Divyang

As part of my CAS journey, I volunteered with Divyang, an NGO that teaches football to visually impaired children. While I was not directly involved in the sports sessions, I contributed by designing posters that the NGO could use for outreach and awareness. This was a meaningful way to use my creative skills for a social cause, while supporting an organization that empowers children through sports.

LO1 (Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth):
Through this activity, I recognized my strength in visual design and communication. Making posters required me to be both creative and purposeful, ensuring that the message was clear and engaging while aligning with the NGO’s mission. At the same time, I realized I could grow in making my designs more inclusive and accessible to different audiences.

LO4 (Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences):
The task required commitment as I had to iterate through several drafts and take feedback before finalizing the posters. Maintaining consistency in quality across all the designs and meeting deadlines demonstrated my perseverance and dedication to the cause.

LO6 (Engagement with issues of global significance):
Working with Divyang made me reflect on the importance of inclusivity and equal opportunities for people with disabilities, which is a global issue. Creating awareness through my posters helped spread the message that sports can be a powerful tool for empowerment, regardless of physical limitations.

Overall, this experience was rewarding as it allowed me to combine creativity with social responsibility, while contributing in my own way to the NGO’s vision of inclusion and empowerment.
