About the Activity:
Over the course of 4 sessions, I finished the activity rock climbing by progressing towards the top of the course steadily. Personally, I am not a physically inclined student, however through this activity, I challenged myself to complete the entire wall of rock climbing by trusting myself.
LO1: Identify your own strengths and develop areas for personal growth
My own strengths in this was that I had a fairly flexible body, allowing me to climb the rocks in an easier manner. However, I lacked arm strength, which made it difficult for me to go upwards after a point (I wasn’t able to pull myself). This was a point where I decided to improve on by doing upper body exercises regularly, and especially before the rock climbing sessions. This improved my arm strength significantly by the fourth day (last day), which is when I could finally reach the top.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process.
While doing rock climbing for the first time, I was scared of heights. I couldn’t progress after a point, afraid that I was going to fall down, and I repeatedly asked sir to lower me down. However, my friends and sir started encouraging me to continue further, saying that I could do it. I overcame my fear and slowly continued further, believing that I could do it. This is how I could reach higher after each day.

LO4: Show commitment to and perseverance in CAS experiences
I dedicated myself to complete the wall of rock climbing in the limited time of 4 sessions. It seemed impossible on the first day, considering how scared I was. However, I committed myself to the goal of completing the wall, and on the last day, I pushed myself to touch the last rock. By the end, my arms were sore, but I finally achieved the goal through perseverance.
Therefore, through the demonstration of LO1, 2, and 4, this CAS experience helped me develop a lot of physical skills, and learn a lot more about how to develop physical strength and its necessity. After this course, I decided to be more physically inclined by exercising regularly, so that I can stay fit and undertake more such courses in the future. I also realised that mentality plays a big role in such risk-taking activities, so I decided to approach all situations with an optimistic mindset, and never give up on the decided goal.
