Business Model Canvas Competition- Creativity

As part of my CAS experience, I will take part in the BM Shark Tank, a thrilling experience to build creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurship skills. During this challenge, I will collaborate with fellow students in thinking, designing, and pitching creative business ideas to a judging panel. The experience will necessitate critical thinking, communication, and cooperation skills with other people. Utilizing tools like the Business Model Canvas, I will be able to learn how to organize a business proposal, from determining customer needs and value propositions to defining costs, revenue streams, and key resources. Not only will this experience enable me to venture into entrepreneurship, but it will also challenge me to develop skills like patience, leadership, and versatility. Operating under time constraints to devise a feasible business model will push me to remain organized and focused. Concomitantly, pitching in front of judges will test my confidence and presentation skills. Apart from entrepreneurial skills, I will also look into the ethical and social implications of our suggested idea, discovering that entrepreneurship is not merely about profit-making but also responsibility and sustainability.
Learning Outcomes Addressed

LO1 – Determine own strengths and areas for development:
In this project, I will determine my strengths in creativity and coming up with innovative ideas. I tend to like brainstorming and thinking outside the box, which will be useful in coming up with a one-of-a-kind business model. Yet I also understand that I must develop in areas of financial literacy, time management, and public speaking. The Shark Tank will provide a chance to capitalize on my current strengths while actively working towards these areas of development.

LO2 – Show that new challenges have been taken on, acquiring new skills:
It will be a big challenge to come up with a new business idea from the ground and pitch it before a panel of judges. It will need critical thinking, problem-solving, and developing an idea under time pressure. I anticipate having challenges when organizing the business model as well as while preparing for presentation, but overcoming these challenges, I will learn new skills in entrepreneurship, business analysis, and communication.

LO3 – Plan and initiate a CAS experience:
I will be involved in coordinating our team’s strategy to the Shark Tank, including brainstorming sessions and distributing tasks and preparing our final presentation. This will include applying the Business Model Canvas to organize our ideas neatly and effectively. Initiative in task coordination, goal setting, and time management will ensure that our team operates smoothly and is prepared for the competition.

LO5 – Show skills and advantage of working together:
The Shark Tank demands intense collaboration since no individual can develop a viable business model without others. I will need to listen actively to my classmates, be respectful of varied opinions, and compromise whenever necessary. Collaborative work will enable us to synergize our strengths—creativity, financial acumen, and presentation skills—to forge a stronger and innovative proposal than we would have done on our own.

LO7 – Identify and reflect on the ethics of actions and decisions:
While crafting our business idea, I will also think about the ethical consequences of our decisions. This means reflecting on sustainability, justice, and how our product or service affects people and the environment. Identifying the ethics of entrepreneurship will ensure our business idea is not just innovative and profitable but also socially responsible.
Reflection

I anticipate the BM Shark Tank to be a challenging but satisfying experience that will take me out of my comfort zone. Creating a creative and realistic business concept will challenge my problem-solving and planning ability, while the Business Model Canvas will structure our thoughts effectively. Team work will enhance my collaboration and communication, as I learn to listen, compromise, and divide tasks. Speaking before judges will test my confidence level, but in the process, it will make me develop in public speaking and persuasive communication as well. Last but not least, I will consider the ethical aspect of entrepreneurship so that our business concept is not only creative but also sustainable and socially responsible.
