One day trek- Bhavar Kada Waterfall- Activity

The CAS trip to Bhavar Kada Waterfalls was a much-needed break from the stress of my art portfolio, school academics, and constant deadlines. As someone who has loves nature and resonates deeply with it, I was never reluctant to sign up for the trek. I was genuinely excited because trekking has been something that always fascinated me. The experience gave me a chance to step away from my usual routine, reconnect with nature, and learn through adventure and teamwork.

Although I was excited, the unexpected rainy weather made the trails muddy and slippery, which made the trek more challenging. Still, it was enjoyable to navigate through the unguided paths and observe the different plant and insect species along the way. The foggy atmosphere created a calm and ambient setting that made the entire experience feel peaceful and refreshing. This one-day trek turned into one of my favorite memories. It was something my friends and I had been eagerly waiting for, and being our last school year, it truly became one of the most cherished experiences of our senior year.

LO2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process

The trek to Bhavar Kada Waterfalls presented both physical and mental challenges. The uneven terrain, slippery slopes, and unpredictable weather required balance, focus, and stamina. As someone who experiences migraines, I began to feel lightheaded and tired at times, but I pushed through and found joy in the difficulty of the trek. This helped me build resilience, perseverance, and patience. I realized that even when things get physically exhausting, staying motivated and determined can make the experience worthwhile.

LO5: Demonstrate the skills and recognize the benefits of working collaboratively

The trek highlighted how important teamwork and communication are when working in a group. Walking together through uneven and slippery trails meant that we had to support and encourage one another throughout the journey. When someone struggled or slowed down, others immediately offered help and motivation. This created a sense of unity and made the experience far more enjoyable. Working collaboratively not only helped us complete the trek safely but also strengthened our friendships and made the entire experience more meaningful.

LO6: Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance

Spending the day surrounded by nature reminded me of the importance of environmental sustainability, which is a global issue. The waterfalls and surrounding forests were beautiful, but they also made me reflect on how natural spaces like these are being threatened by pollution, deforestation, and climate change. Being there encouraged me to be more mindful about my own environmental impact and to practice sustainability in small ways, such as avoiding littering and respecting biodiversity. This experience helped me connect my personal actions to broader global efforts toward environmental protection.

Overall, the Bhavar Kada Waterfalls trek was a refreshing and unforgettable CAS experience. It allowed me to take a break from academic stress, reconnect with nature, and share a memorable day with my friends. Although the weather made the trek more difficult, I felt proud of myself for staying positive and pushing through the challenges. The experience taught me resilience, teamwork, and environmental awareness, and it became one of the most memorable moments of my senior year of school.
