Bal mela

What the experience was:
In this experience, I participated in organizing and conducting activities for underprivileged children during a Bal Mela. The event included diverse activities such as art and craft sessions, sports, dance, and music. These activities provided the children with opportunities for creative expression, recreation, and learning in a fun, inclusive environment.

Connection to Sustainable Development Goal:
This experience directly relates to SDG 10: Reducing Inequalities, as it aimed to bridge the gap in access to recreational and developmental opportunities for children from marginalized backgrounds. By engaging them in creative and physical activities, the event promoted inclusivity and worked toward reducing disparities in educational and extracurricular exposure.

Connection to Learning Outcomes:

LO2 (Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process): Organizing diverse activities for children required adaptability, creativity, and problem-solving. I developed leadership and teamwork skills while ensuring the children were engaged and included.

LO6 (Demonstrate engagement with issues of global significance): By working with underprivileged children, I directly engaged with the global issue of inequality, recognizing the importance of equal opportunities in holistic development.

LO7 (Recognize and consider the ethics of choices and actions): The experience required ethical consideration in how activities were designed and delivered, ensuring respect, sensitivity, and inclusivity toward the children’s backgrounds and needs.
