TOK Exhibition – Project

For my CAS project, I organized a TOK Exhibition for Grade 11 students. I selected Grade 12 speakers to present their projects, designed a poster to promote the exhibition, and created a reflection form that was sent to the students afterward. The project required careful planning, collaboration, and creativity to ensure the event was meaningful and ran smoothly.

CAS Learning Outcomes Achieved:

  • Identify new challenges and develop new skills (LO 1): Coordinating an exhibition for another grade presented challenges such as managing multiple speakers, designing materials, and ensuring timely communication. I developed skills in event management, problem-solving, and creative presentation, which were new areas for me.
  • Increase awareness of your own strengths and areas for growth (LO 2): I recognized my strengths in planning, leadership, and communication, while realizing I needed to improve in delegation, time management, and anticipating logistical issues in advance.
  • Demonstrate perseverance and commitment in your actions (LO 3): The exhibition required sustained effort from planning to execution and follow-up. I remained committed throughout, ensuring every detail was completed successfully despite time constraints and unexpected challenges.
  • Plan and initiate activities (LO 4): I took initiative by designing the promotional poster, preparing the reflection form, selecting speakers, and creating a timeline. This planning ensured the exhibition was well-organized and engaging for the audience.
  • Work collaboratively with others (LO 5): I coordinated with Grade 12 speakers, teachers, and peers, learning to communicate effectively, listen to suggestions, and support others to ensure the success of the exhibition.
  • Engage in issues of global importance (LO 6): By encouraging students to critically engage with TOK concepts, the exhibition addressed the broader issue of how knowledge is constructed, shared, and questioned—an essential consideration in education worldwide.
  • Show responsibility for your choices and actions (LO 7): I ensured that all participants were treated ethically and respectfully, maintained fairness in speaker selection and participation, and took responsibility for the overall integrity and success of the event.

Through this experience, I strengthened my organization, leadership, collaboration, and reflective skills, while gaining a deeper appreciation for the ethical and practical responsibilities involved in sharing knowledge with others.
