One-day CAS trip to Bhavar Kada Waterfalls, a scenic yet physically demanding destination that truly tested our endurance, teamwork, and personal resilience. It was more than just a trek – it was an experience filled with learning, bonding, and personal growth.
LO1 – Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
Throughout the trek, I was able to observe and reflect on my strengths, particularly in team coordination and emotional support. Several members of the group felt physically exhausted during the steep climbs, and I took initiative in motivating and encouraging them. However, I also realized that I need to build my physical stamina and hydration discipline, as I underestimated the intensity of the hike and didn’t pace myself well in the beginning. This realization will help me prepare better for future outdoor CAS experiences.
LO2 – Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills
This trip challenged me both mentally and physically. The slippery terrain, dense foliage, and continuous upward climb pushed me out of my comfort zone. I learned how to navigate rugged terrain, manage my pace, and communicate effectively in group settings, especially when crossing risky areas. These are skills I had not developed before and would not have learned without putting myself in this challenging situation.
LO4 – Show perseverance and commitment in CAS experience
Despite fatigue and muscle cramps, I did not give up. There were moments when I genuinely considered stopping, but I reminded myself of the value of completing what I started. Reaching the waterfall after hours of hiking was incredibly rewarding. It symbolized not just the physical journey, but also the commitment and perseverance I showed throughout the day. My continuous involvement, positive mindset, and support for peers demonstrated my commitment to this CAS experience.
